"Tillsammans...i mexivillans land" (Together…In the land of the Mexi-Brick Villa)
The exhibition invites the visitor to a typical Swedish single-family house of the 70’s; a house built in the new construction material; Mexi-Brick. The interiors, furniture, the everyday-belongings and the clothes from the seventies are mixed in the exhibition with pictures, facts and quotes from people that were teenagers or young parents at the time.
What changes occurred in society when women took a more active role in working life? What were the topics of the day? What new gadgets were introduced in the homes? And was it really a smart thing to buy a refrigerator – as a contemporary reader of a magazine asked the experts…

The Exhibition design is structured around four interiors or scenes from a typical family home – each scene tells a story about different parts and phenomena of society – artifacts, quotes and sound recordings from the time combine into a fun and yet thought-provoking exhibition.
